The National Institute of Technology Rourkela is inviting applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (PhD) with 1 vacancy. Candidates should possess first-class qualifications in Matriculation, +2, B.Tech/B.E in Civil Engineering, and M.E/M.Tech in Water Resources Engineering, along with GATE qualification preferred.

Maximum Age Limit: 32 years.

Age Relaxation

Relaxed up to 5 years for SC/ST/PWD/Female; 3 years for OBC (Non-creamy layer).

Eligibility Criteria

  • First class in Matriculation and +2.
  • B.Tech/B.E in Civil Engineering with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 or 60% marks.
  • M.E/M.Tech in Water Resources Engineering with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 or 60% from a recognized Technical Institute/University.
  • Candidates belonging to Reserved Category (PWD/SC/ST) may be relaxed 0.5 CGPA or 5% in the +2 level.
  • Desirable: Experience in hydrological/hydrodynamic modelling, compound flood assessment, climate change impact analysis, GIS and remote sensing applications, and spatial data processing. Proficiency in modelling tools and strong technical writing, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Candidates with GATE qualification will be given priority.

Year 1 & 2: INR 37,000.00 per month; Year 3: INR 42,000.00 per month.
